Hike through untouched nature with one of our experienced guides. We take you through the real wilderness forests. Suddenly, we hear the dog’s bark through the canopy. We begin to slowly head against the barking. Far over there, we glimpse a black silhouette. A capercaillie (wood grouse) is teasing the dog. Soon there is a dull bang through the wood. The bird falls to the ground and cooperation between dog and human show good result. When the sun sets behind the horizon, we head back to Neitigården to enjoy today's catch. Our dog "Rissi" is very clever and is an experienced hunting dog. The forests around Lainio has a lot of capercaillie, and sometimes you can even get a glimpse of a black grouse.

The season for tree barking hunt are from 25th of August to 15th of November.

In the winter we offer top tree hunt for capercaillie.

Then we travel with skis through snow covered landscape. Capercaillies are very shy and shooting range over 200 meters is not uncommon. Here the shooting skills are put on test as well as camouflage and behavior in the nature. Our guides are very skilled and will teach you everything you need to know. The days are short during the winter so it comes to hunt effectively and take advantage of the daylight we get. After a day of ski-ride we serve a big dinner in Neitigården and end the day in the hot sauna.

The season for top tree hunt will run from 16th of November to 31th of January.
